Evaluating the Degree of Export Readiness of Nigerian Businesses for the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA)

This study aims to do a critical evaluation of the degree of export readiness of Nigerian businesses under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). The research method was quantitative, and a survey was used to collect primary data from 118 enterprises of different sizes, in different sectors and locations in different zones and states of the country.

The questions that the study set out to answer were to identify the factors that are hindering SME manufacturers in Lagos, Nigeria from utilizing the ETLS and also the recommended way out of these factors. The research method was qualitative and data collection was from 24 SME manufacturers and this was done via a one-on-one semi-structured interview with each of the respondents.

The objective of the research in this study was to examine the use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data by small family businesses concerning their capability of competing with big companies. The study found that not only are AI and other data analytics tools more affordable than ever, but small family businesses can also seek outside help to implement and learn how to use those business tools, and realizing huge benefits and increasing their ability to compete with larger companies.

Employees' motivation is easier to facilitate when done right but can also be challenging to measure and control since it is intangible. The concept has been studied for many years, but still, companies find it challenging to promote productivity at workplaces. In that case, I have conducted a short survey and a literature review to understand employees' perceptions regarding motivational factors at workplaces. Results and findings for the two approaches have been described in this paper.
